THE TRUE VINE
John 15:1-8
Genesis 1:11,20,26
Every chapter in the book of john reveal the deity(divine nature of God ,essential natures of God) of Jesus. that is his true identity::-
I am the bread of life(john 6:35)
I am the light of the world(john 8:12)
I am the gate(john 10:7)
I am the good shepherd(john 10;11)
I am the resurrection and life (john 11 :25)
I am the way ,the truth and life (john14:6)
I am the true vine( john 15:1)
The I AM statement affirms Jesus' ore-existence and eternal deity . john 1:1-2
Exodus 3 :14 God said in the old testament that " say to them that I AM or I AM THAT I AM sent you.
JOHN 15:1 - 8 (I AM THE TRUE VINE)
INTRODUCTION
Grapevine is a plant that supports many branches and fruits. In the old testament,it symbolizes is reals fruitfulness in doing the work of God - Isaiah 5:1-7 ,Ezekiel 19:10 -14)
The passover meal, the fruit of the vine shows Gods goodness on his people.
EXPLANATION
John 15 :1 ::- Christ is the vine, the supplier , the sustainer of the branches.
God is the Gardener, the one who takes care of it.
The people are the branches, fruitful branches are true believers
Unfruitful branches are Unbelievers
Unproductive followers are as good as dead, why?
Because they will be cut off and tossed aside.
John 15 :2 ::- Jesus makes a distinction between between the types of pruning.
Separating - cutting off the one that bears no fruits
Cutting back branches -so that it will produce more fruits.
God must sometimes discipline us ,to strengths our faith and character , but branches that don't bear fruits will be cut off.
To free the rest to grow
And not to infect the rest
Believers who don't bear fruits discourages those that are working to bear fruits, they need to be cut off by God..
John 15:3-4 ::-Hearing the word and acting on it,has a cleansing effect.
If you did not act on it,and remain in him and him in you,you will not bear fruits.
The result will be cutting off from the presence of God
We as Christians, must take our nourishment from the word of God to bear fruits.
John 15 :5 ::-Bearing fruits is not limited to soul winning only(evangelism and sharing the word of God) .we also have
Answered prayers - john 15:7
Joy - john 15:11
Love --john 15:12
More - 2 peter 1 :5-8
John 15:6 ::-Remaining inn Christ means :-
Believing that Christ is God son
Receiving him as Saviour and lord
Doing what God says
Continuing to believe the Gospel
Relating Gods word to the community.
Not remaining g in him means seperation and being thrown away in the lake of fire.
I pray that God will give us the Grace to remain and abide in him in Jesus name (Amen).
John 15:7::- the reward of remaining in Christ and Christ in you
Answered prayers(Matthew 7:7)
So,it means not remaining in him will hinder our prayers.
John 15 :8 ::- when a vine bears fruits,God is Glorified. Because he send rain ,sunshine ,nutrients etc
He takes care of if
In the same way,God is Glorified ,if we bears fruits in this world.

CONCLUSION
When God wanted to create fish,he spoke to the sea
When he wanted to create trees, he spoke to the earth
But when he wanted to create man,he said to himself " let us make man in our image and likeness
Please note::- if you remove fish in the water,it will die.
If you remove plants com the ground, it will die.
If man disconnects himself from God, he dies
God is mans natural environment
We were created to live in his presence
We must be connected to him always, because only in him we have life
.
Jeremiah 2:21
"Yet I planted you a choice vine, wholly of pure seed. how then have you turned degenerated and become a wild vine?"
God planted the people of Israel pure and without sin. but the evil in their hearts ,had turn it into something detestable to God.
Hosea 10:1
Israel is a luxuriant vine that yield its fruits .the more fruits increased,the more alter he built as his country improved improved his pillars.
The more God blesses us ,we are suppose to show him thanks ,trough our sacrifice and offering.
