(John 6:27)
"Do not work for the food that spoil, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the son of man will give to you. For on Him God the Father placed His seals of approval.
Jesus criticized those that follow Him for only physical and Temporal benefits not for satisfying their spiritual hunger.
True believers follow Jesus simply because they know
He has the truth
His ways is the way of life
Eternity means eternal existence, timelessness, or the state of some thing that neither have beginning or ending John 3:16 says :-
"That whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life" (living forever and ever)
AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
Understanding the frustration of Christ - less eternity= living forever in hell (lake of fire)
Some doctrines (false) are saying there's no eternity.
Creates deeper urgency to recuse the lost from such fate.
How do we do that?
Evangelism and Discipleship.
Eternity is not like anything Human have experienced
Only Jesus has tested eternity and came to this world again.
Only by revelation from God we can get a glimpse of what it is
And whenever there's no revelation there's no direction.
Our human nature limits us to see more: - why?
Comprehending eternity is hard
It installs fear in us, because of the notion of the endless journey
And to an unknown destination.

WHEN THE WORD ETERNITY IS MENTION , HOW DO YOU FEEL?

Will my journey be smooth?
Will I find my way
Will I be able to write the exams
John 5:24 = talks of eternal life
"Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes in Him who sent me has eternal life"= living forever.
It begins when we accept Jesus Chris as Lord and saviour (He is out Lord but not that of our Pocket).
At that moment, a new life begins in you. (2Corinthians 5:17).
"Therefore, of anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come the old has gone, the new is here"
Christians are branded as new from the inside. Why?
The Holy spirit gives them new life
And they are not the same any more. (the old nature had gone)
We are not reformed, rehabilitated or reducated
But we are re-created (New creations) living in union with Christ.
We are beginning a new life under a new master (Praise the Lord)
Question -Does Your Life Reflects This New Perspective?
It is a question for us to ponder on.
WHAT ARE THE THINGS THAT MAKES ONE TO SEEK ETERNITY?
John 2:25= the promise of eternal life
Our eternal life keeping (Promise)
Does not rest on the uncertainty of merit or good works
It rest solely (wholely) on.
he finished work of Christ on the cross
We are to linked to the finished work of Christ -: by
Trusting in His promises because He is a faithful God
Believing in Him whole heartedly
The righteous will receive eternal life and life forever
Our righteousness is inputted by Jesus Christ
2Peter 1:10-11= our calling an election
Calling in Christ -: our primary calling is to be in a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ
Election -: God choosing a particular person or group of people (Jew, Gentiles) to a particular relationship especially of eternity life.
Those that accept Christ are elected people.
Peter wanted to check the false teacher teachings
"Salvation is not based on good deeds, so they should live the way they wanted"
He says, if you truly belong to the Lord, your hand work for Him will prove it.
The fruit of your salvation (genuine), fruits of your good works.
That is a sign
But we cannot depend on our for salvation.
Confirm your calling and election by your good works.
This in turn will no take you not stumble but have eternal life.

Simon Peter answered and said "Lord shall we go to? You have the word of eternal life.
The word of Jesus is eternal life, when you listen and believe you will not perish .
WHEN WILL ETERNITY BEGIN?
Eternity begins when you have faith in God (Mark 11:22-23)
Eternity starts when we become believers
Because of the saving faith, our names were drafted in the book of life.
We are now candidates of Heaven, not Hell.
John 1:12 -: it begins, when we believe in His name? (Jesus Christ)
All who welcomes Jesus as the Lord of their life's are reborn spiritually
Being born of God makes you spiritually alive
And puts you in God's family
It is only available to those who believe in Jesus Christ (Amen)
Colossian 3:23-24 -: it begins when you work with eternity in mind for God
Bearing good fruits of our good works, is a way of planning for eternity
The Bible says any work you do, do it as unto the Lord
It's doesn't mean bad works e.g kidnapping, stealing, womanizing, prostitution, (male or female) but God's works.
Since Creation, God has given us work to do, it could be seen as a form of:-
worship to God
Serving Him too
CONCLUSION
Eternity in heaven is a life time achievement award.
We often think we have to earn eternity in heaven
But Jesus has shown us the way
And where is the way?
Jesus is the way to eternal life
Just as Moses lifted the snakes in the wildernesses
The son of man was lifted , that every one who believes will have eternal life.
