WHAT IS THE DIVINE : PREPARATION A CHRISTIAN MUST DO FOR ETERNITY?

What is divine preparation

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish you plans”.
There are different ways to fail to commit whatever we do to the Lord:-

Some people commit their work only
They sometimes commit other to the Lord
And may be the project the intend doing
But their lives they fail to commit to the Lord and the psalms of where to spend eternity when they leave this earth that we are living in today. Think of a specific work, project or effort you are putting right now, have you committed it to the Lord?

AIMS OF THE STUDY

The study will help us appreciate God for His plan for our future.
It will help us to discover the importance of preparation.
To help us key into God’s divine plan.

We should remember that God in His generosity shares some of His characteristics with humanity. These attributes are called communicable attributes of God.

The examples of the communicable attributes are:
Holy love
Spirit
Personal good
Truthful and wise.

This tells us that God is securing place of rest for His people, He engages both Himself and human in the act of preparation. Preparation is a very important part of our journey to heaven in this race of making heaven; we must allow the Holy Spirit to continue to sharpen us to what God actually wants us to be.

DISCUSSION

Discs why preparation is crucial as we embark on a project:
Preparation allows you to relax, knowing that everything is set.
When we plan ahead, things run more smoothly.

It help to know the potential challenges and solution are identified before they happen and ultimately, we save and reduce stree.
Preparation is essential not optional, being prepared saves you from making mistake in your life.

WHY DID CHRIST ASCEND TO HEAVEN TO PREPARE A HOME FOR HIS BELIEVERS?

Philippians 3:20- because we are citizens of heaven.
“But our citizenship is in heaven and we eagerly awaits a savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ”.
Christ went to prepare a place for us in heaven, because this world is not our own, we are not citizens of this world.

Our abode is heaven and Christ went to make sure everything is set for our going one day. Paul told the Philippians that they are to remember them citizens of heaven where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. Have you transferred your citizenship? How are you promoting heaven interest?
Hebrews 13:14 – because that is the hope of every Christian.

“For here we don’t have an enduring city but we are looking for the city to come”
Christians love their jobs, families, spouse and churches but their sight and hope should be set ahead beyond the horizon. Christians should be characterized be looking forward to the future,

we should not be attached to this world, because all that we are and have here is temporary. We should not love our present home so much that we lose sight of God’s future blessing. We should not store up treasure here on earth, but in heaven were rats, moths, fungi and bacteria will destroy it

DISCUSS FROM THE SCRIPTURAL VERSE BELOW, WHAT IT MEANS TO PREPARE.

1Peter 3:14:- To be ready to give answers
Here, we see preparation as something we do, so that we will be ready to give people answer to the doubt they have about the gospel

IN WHAT WAYS SHOULD WE BE PREPARED?

We should be prayerful, so that insight will be given to us as Christians.

Constantly study the word of God.
Attending the church service regularly.

By doing evangelism and preaching to the lost souls.

Listening to sermons, messages, preaching audio and videos.

There’s an adage that says “you cannot give what you don’t have” so the more we study the word, the more we will be prepared to give answers to those looking for answer.

Matthew 24:44:- So that we will not cut off guard by the coming of Jesus.
“So you also must be ready because the son of man will at hour when you don’t expect him.
Jesus purpose in telling about His return is not to stimulate prediction and calculation about the date, about to warn us to be prepared. Will you be ready? The only safe choice is to obey Him today.

WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF PREPARATION ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE VERSE

Matthew 7:24-27 it makes you to be a good Christian the bible says:-
“They that hear my word and put them in to practice is like a wise man build on the rock”

To build on the rock means to be a hearing, responding disciple not a hypocrite or a superficial one. Practicing obedience becomes the solid foundation to weather the storms of life. Like a house of cards, the fool’s life crucible.

Most people do not deliberately seek to build on a false or inferior foundation instead, they just thing about their life’s purpose. Many are headed for destruction because of lack of preparation spiritually. To what does your life reflect the direction Jesus gave in the sermon?

CONCLUSION

It is clear that true preparation involves calling upon God through constant fervent prayer.
Fellowshipping with Him and yearning for Him with all of our hearts

Food for Thought

Keep watch for you neither know the day nor hour

Verse of the Week John 14:3

“If I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am there you may also be”
There are few verse in scripture that describe eternal life, but these few verses are rich with promises, here Jesus says:- I am going there to prepare a place for you and I will come back”.

We can look forward to eternal life because Jesus promised it to all who believe in Him.
