How to make scouring powder in Nigeria

Scouring powder is popularly known as vim in Nigeria.

It is a very important product in the kitchen of a Nigerian woman, especially those that their stoves or fire makes their pots to be black.

These are the ingredients and steps of making a simple, cheap and easy scouring powder(vim)

It is as easy as pouring all ingrediants into a bowl mix properly for the materials to mix well.

Then package it ,thats all.

EQUIPMENTS NEEDED

1, Mortar and pestle

2, A bowl (rubber)

3, A sieve

4, home glove

Ashes

Detergent

Egg shell

1 , You can use sharp sand in place of the pounded egg shell

2 , You can add sodium chloride to the ingredients (it serves as the anti bacterial components of the vim)

3 , Baking soda can be used in place of the ashes.

1 , Sieve the ashes to get a fine powder

2 , Dry the egg shell in the sun

3 , pound the egg shell to get a smooth powder, you can also sieve to get an even sizes of the ingredients.

4 , Get a good detergent that foams and remove grease very well.

STEPS

1 , pour the ashes 2 cups in a clean and dry bowl

2 , Add one(1) and the half cup of pounded egg shell to it.

3 , Mix it very well to get an even mixture

4 , Add your detergent to the mixture

5 , Your scouring power is ready

TESTING IT

Carry a very black pot

The scrub the back with the newly made vim and iron sponge.

Wash with water and see how clean it is.
