Text -Gen 6:5-6
"The lord observed the extend of human wickedness on earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagine was consistently and totally wicked.
So the lord was was sorry he had ever made them and put them on earth. It broke his heart ."
Does this mean God regretted creating man or humanity? Was God admitting he made a mistake by creating man? The answer to these questions is , No
God does not change his mind, ( 1 Samuel 15 : : 29
" What have I done now? ,David replied, I was only asking a question "
Instead , he was expressing sorrow for what they had done to themselves, as a parent might express sorrow over a child's rebellion .God was so sorry that the people chose sin and death over a relationship with them.
If God, is Omniscient (All -knowing) Then he possesses the knowledge of all evil, that is , He knows we have evil ,wicked ,sinful ,and terrible people on this earth.
If he is Omni bonevolent (All Good)then he desires to overcome evil , He says "He knows the plan and thought he has for us, the plan for good and not for evil Jeremiah 29:11.
" For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, they are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope ".
And if he is Omnipotent (All powerful) then his ability is enough to permanently end evil, Therefore evil should not exist ,because we have a God that is also everywhere (Omnipresence).
If God is good and he has all these features and more, why then does he allow evil to exist?
Some are of the opinion that, If God is truly Good, then it means he is not a Great God. That a Great God would have ended suffering ,pains ,and Evil in the world.
:- Psalms 100:5 says-
"For the Lord is Good,his loving kindness is everlasting I.e forever
And his faithfulness to all generation."
.Loving kindness::- sure ,steadfast love
.Faithfulness of God::- He is faithful in
keeping his promises. He is true to his words to all generation.
Psalms 145:8 ::-says" The Lord is good to all, And his mercies are over all his works"
He is Good to all:- He Maketh the sun and rain to pour on both the good and evil,the just and unjust. He allows sinners to turn from their sins.
His tender mercies :-is not only on humans but on all his creations.
His perfect Goodness is seen in Habakkuk 1:13a, His eyes are too pure to look on evil, He cannot tolerate wrongdoings.
GENESIS 6:5-6 ::- It Shows the reality of Evil in the world.
.The lord saw great wickedness of human race.
.And every thought of their heart were evil.
.He regretted making man on the face of the earth (because of their evil).
Was God Admitting He Made A Mistake For Creating Man?
No, He is too perfect to make a mistake.
.He was expressing sorrow for what people had become.
.God was sorry that people chose death and sin over a relationship and fellowship with him.
Our Sins as believers always breaks Gods heart.
WHY DOES GOD ALLOW EVIL?
1, Free will :- (Rev 3:20) says "Here I am, I stand at the door knocking,if any anyone hears my voice and open the door I will come in and sit. shows free will.
Galatians 5:13 :-We were called to be free ,let's not use it to indulge in things of the flesh..
Adam And Eve willfully chose to disobey God in the Garden of Eden.(there was an instruction by God not to eat of the tree knowledge of Good and evil but they did)
.God desires an authentic worship and relationship with humans.
.He chose that over a world free from evil - he would have made us like Robot
.He gave us the ability to choose known as free will.
Even if humans were created by God to do good,they chose to do evil.(Deu. 30:15) So,we cannot blame God when men choose to do evil instead of good.
Why did he create us with free will?
So that we can love him first(first commandments)
And Others(Neighbors) the second commandment..
Free will creates the potentials of doing doing good and evil Wii fully. so let's check those things that influence us negatively.
2, The Sovereignty Of God ( Colosians 1:16 -17
" For through him ,God created everything, in the heavenly realm and on earth.
He made things we can see and things we can't see. Such as thrones , kingdoms , rulers and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
He existed before everything else and he holds all creation together " .
Isaiah 45:7-9)
" I create the light and make the darkness, I send good times and bad times.
I, the Lord I am the one who does these things.
Open up oh heavens and pour out your righteousness. Let the earth open wide so salvation and righteousness can sprout out together. I, the Lord created them.
What sorrow awaits those who argue with their creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker?
Does the clay disputes with the one who shape it, saying , stop you are doing it wrong, does the pot exclaimed " how clumsy can you be" ?.
God has power and control over everything(Good or bad) He made everything.
this shows his pattern and purpose that is perfectly good.
Gen 50:15-21 ::- with all that Joseph's brothers did to him, he forgave them and said ,the evil they intended for me but God turn it for God.
God can overrule Evil intentions,to bring out Good results because He is a sovereign God.
Let's learn to trust God with the evil thats around us, And patiently wait for him to do something about it.
ROM 8:28 ::-Everything worketh for good to those who love God and called according to his purpose.
.God works in all things (Good or bad) And turn bad into good because of his sovereignty.
.He is working not to make us happy but to fulfill his purpose.
.His promises is not for everyone but those called according to his purpose.
CONCLUSION
The greatest Example is the death of Jesus on the cross of calvary, The devil thought he had thwarted the will and plan of God, But God used it to bring salvation Deliverance to humanity.
