 THE TEN COMMANDMENTS.

10 commandments

 The lord writes the ten commandments on the tablets and gave it unto me ,they were the same word the lord had spoken to you from the heart of the fire on the day you were assembled at the foot of the mountain".

The ten commandments were given by God orally from mount Sinai, written on the tablets of stone and stored in the Ark of the covenant.

 WHAT IS THE ARK OF THE          COVENANT?

EXODUS 25:10-22

The Ark of the covenant was a special chest made of acacia wood and overlaid with gold,on the top was the atonement cover placed in the most holy place of the tabernacle and later in the most Holy place in the temple.

These ten commandments formed the moral law of God for the people

Much of the old testament laws have been fulfilled and done away with in Christ(Gal 3:10).

" But those who depends on the law to make them Right with God are under his curse ,for the scripture says cause is everyone who does not o serve and obey the complete law.

God revealed the law to his righteous people on mount Sinai, but since no one could keep the God's law perfectly,No one can be declared clean. but God considers those believe in Christ to have fully met the demand s of the law and so to be free from its condemnation.

The ten commandments are all repeated in the new testament,only the fourth (4) was not,which is about the Sabbath day.the command to love is the summary of the ten commandment. (Leviticus 19:18).

"Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Isrealite, but love your neivhbour as yourself,I am the lord "

Throughout church history,Christians have identified four uses of of the ten commandments. ::-

1,   As a morrow in which sinners see their desperate condition 

2,   As their need for justification by Grace.

3,   As a civil protection against chaos

4,   As a guide for the redeemed life

CHRISTIANS MUST LIVE IN OBEDIENCE TO CHRIST.

Matthew 7:24-27

Anyone who listen and and follows Jesus' teaching is wise and is like a person who built a house on a solid rock. We should be listeners and doers of the words of God. Not like those who listens and not obey it.He calls them foolish.

                     CONCLUSION

Deuteronomy 10:1-5

¹ "At that time the Lord said to me, 'Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones. Also make a wooden Ark a sacred chest to store them in. Come up to me on the mountain, 

² and I will write on the tablets the same words that were on the ones you smashed. Then place the tablets in the Ark.' 

³ "So I made an Ark of acacia wood and cut two stone tablets like the first two. Then I went up the mountain with the tablets in my hand. 

⁴ Once again the Lord wrote the Ten Commandments on the tablets and gave them to me. They were the same words the Lord had spoken to you from the heart of the fire on the day you were assembled at the foot of the mountain. 

⁵ Then I turned and came down the mountain and placed the tablets in the Ark of the Covenant, which I had made, just as the Lord commanded me. And the tablets are still there in the Ark." 

Matthew 19:16-19

¹⁶ Someone came to Jesus with this question: “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?”

¹⁷ “Why ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. But to answer your question—if you want to receive eternal life, keep the commandments.”

¹⁸ “Which ones?” the man asked.

And Jesus replied: “‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. 

¹⁹ Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself
