WHAT ARE SEXUAL STANDARDS?

What are sexual standards

                    

  Matthew 5:28

" But I say, Anyone who even looks at a woman with lust,has committed Adultery with her in his heart"

This command forbids not only the acts of fornication and adultery, but, (1) All appetites to them, all lusting after the forbidden object this is the beginning of the sin, lust conceiving .

James 1:15 ::- 

"These desires give birth to sinful actions, And then sin is allowed to grow ,it gives birth to death"

    God wants his people to keep the sexual sides of their nature  untainted from sin. The sexual sins condemned in the bible are these ::-

1,  adultery

2. Incest

3, Sex with animals ( bestiality)

4,  Prostitution

5,  Homosexuality

6,  Lost of virginity before marriage

7,  Obscenity

8,  lust etc ,etc

The bible warns against sexual sins as mentioned above.

Leviticus 20 :10 talks of Adultery

" if a man commits adultery with his neighbors wife, both the man and the woman who have committed the Adultery must be put to death"

Adultery (sexual unfaithfulness to ones spouse) was prohibited in the old testament law and as a sin both against ones spouse and against God.

Warning against sexual sins found in Exodus 22:16- 19

" if a man seduces a virgin who is not engaged to anyone and has sex with her, he must pay the customary bride price and marry her.

But if her father refuses to to let him marry her ,the man must still pay him an amount equal to the bride Price of a virgin.

You must not allow a sorceress to live

Anyone who has sexual relation with animals ,must certainly be put to death."

WHAT IS GOD'S WILL REGARDING SEXUAL STANDARDS?

There are two perspectives of Gods will regarding sexual standards ,and they are ::- 

1,  In negative terms

2,  In positive terms

The negative terms against sexual standards are ::-

.there's a law against Elicit sexual behaviors Exodus 20:14

.The command to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6 :18

.Sexual sins excludes us from the kingdom of heaven.

The positive terms of sexual standards are these::-

.we should strive for sexual purity as Christians (1 peter 3 :2)

.we should be faithful in marriage (1 Corinthians 7:2-4)

.we should exercise self control as Christians (Galatians 5:23)

.If we cannot stay without having the urge for it, it is better to get,so that we will run away from a tons that will hurt our maker and God.

WHAT ARE THE PROHIBITION OF               ADULTERY?

                     Exodus. 20:14

" You must not commit adultery" God in the ten commandments directly gives us command not to commit adultery,it is therefore prohibited ,that is ,sexual affairs two married or between unmarried somebody and a married somebody.

What is the punishment for adultery?

The bible says  "if a man and a woman ,that is ,the wife of his neighbor had sex(commits adultery) ,both the man and the woman who commits the adultery should be put to death" 

WHAT ARE THE PROHIBITIONS AGAINST 
HOMOSEXUAL BEHAVIOURS?

                

 Genesis 19:5 -7

Here we saw the men of Sodom and Gomorrah coming to Lot's house, to ask him of the men that came to his house ,the men categorically wanted to have sex with the visitors in Lot's house

The sex was going to be against the will of the men that came to Lot's house. He offered the his virgin girls to have their way with them but they refuse.

The men from Sodom were used to all forms of sexual sins. here we saw ::-

Homosexuality ::- men and men 

Rape ::-sex against one will

Disvirginity ::- offered his virgin girls

Fornication and adultery

The book of Leviticus 18:22  says " Do not practice homosexuality ,having sex with another man as with a woman,it is a detestable thing(sin) before God"

Genesis 2 :24 ::- " This explains why a man will leave his father and mother and is joined together with his wife and the two are united into one"

Genesis talks of a man and a woman coming together in marriage,not a man and a man or a woman and a woman ,or a man and animal.

 HOW CAN WE EXERCISE SELF CONTROL.

                

 PROVERBS 25:28

" A person without self control is like a city broken down walls"

We are to exercise self control as Christians with help of the holy spirit , the bible always caution us against let ourselves loose as Christians.
