Sheba here, was probably the man that the town , Queen Sheba is coming from is named after him. the ancestor of Sheba was Ham the son of Noah..He gave birth to ::-

 WHY QUEEN OF SHEBA VISITS KING           SOLOMON.

                   

1 KINGS 10: 1 - 13

When Queen Sheba heard of the fame and his relationship with God she decided to come and see him for herself.

Her coming was also to test Solomon with hard questions.

She came from a far country to see for herself whether what she has been hearing about Solomon was  true. she wanted to test him with hard questions through::-

1,  Riddled or

2,  Proverbs or

3,  Botha

The Queen may have used some of these,to question Solomon.

We saw Samson used riddles too in judges 14:12::-

" Let me tell you a riddle, Samson said to them," if you can give me the answer within seven days of the feast, I will give you thirty Linen garments and thirty set of clothes"

Queen of Sheba was amazed and overwhelmed when she discovered how wise and rich Solomon was,she stopped questioning him.

Queen of Sheba arrived with large caravan of ::-

Spices

Gold

And precious stones

They discussed and he answered all her questions with ease.

When she saw everything in the palace from his wisdom, the utensils , the servants , food and cupbearers etc. She was cleared of her doubt's and confirms what people are saying. She became an admirer of king Solomon the more.

WHAT WERE THE GIFTS SHE GAVE KING SOLOMON?

1,  The first gift she gave to Solomon,was the gift of her good compliments.she said ::-

All the reports and achievements she heard of were true, that it was little what she was told compared to what she was seeing.

2,  She gave king solomon::-

a, 120 talents of Gold

b,  large quantity of spices

c,  precious stones

Never again were so many spices brought in as those the Queen of Sheba gave king Solomon.

(1 kings 9-10)

King Solomon in turn gave Queen of Sheba all she desired and all she asked for.Besides what he had given her in his royal bounty.

(1 kings 10 :14)

WHAT IS  THE NEW TESTAMENT SAYS ABOUT QUEEN OF SHEBA

MATTHEW 12 :42 , LUKE 11 :31

" The Queen of the south will rise in judgement with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the end of the earth to listen to women's wisdom,and now something greater than Solomon is here"

The Queen of the south traveled far to see Solomon (1 kings 10:1-10) .these Gentiles recognise the truth about God when it was presented to them, unlike the religious leaders(Pharisees) who ignore the truth even though it stared them in the face. How have you responded to the evidence of truth that you have been given?

Luke 11 :31::-

" The Queen of the south, will rise at judgment with the people of the generation and condemn them"

Jonah preaches repentance to non Jews(Gentiles)

Jesus was affirming Jonah's message , salvation is not only for the Jews but for all people.

The Pagan Queen of the south (Sheba) praise God of Israel when she heard Solomon wisdom.

Nenivites and the Queen of the south had turn to God with far less evidence than Jesus Was Giving His Disciples And Listeners.
