WHY ISN'T THE IDENTITY OF GOD MORE OBVIOUS?
That God exist is a fact that most people agree with.
Both ::- Islam, ATR ,Hinduism ,Budhaism and druze.
The world religion agree with point that God exist.
The bible also affirms his existence ::- Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God create the heaven and the earth. That is before there was any or before beginning began ,god was there in the universe.
Isaiah 66:2 For my hands made these things, thus all these things came into being declared the lord God.
Revelation 4:11 ::-worthy are you lord our God to receive the Honour and Glory and power.
.All creatures in heaven and earth praise and hon our God.
.Because he is the creator and sustainer of everything.
It is his exact identity that people are asking of,God's identity is more clear than we thing.
Genesis 1:26-27 ::- Let Us Make Man In Our Own Image And Likeness.
So man reflects the image and likeness of God.
The early fathers in Christianity are of the opinion that:--
Image is the body - with intellect ,ideas and reasoning.
Likeness is of the soul and spirit I.e man was made just like the triune God, we are the reflections of Gods Glory. So God feel our creativity ,love ,faithfulness etc.
We ,being created in the image and likeness of God, shows we have the same character as God even though we are trapped in our bodies by time not like God. God made both man and woman in his own image.
John 10:30 ::- I And My Father Are One
"The father and I are one"
They ask him, if you are the messiah tell us plainly.
He said ,I tell you plainly but you do not belleve.so he went on to tell them the second time.
If you want to know the identity of God ,look to Jesus they are the same.
It is the clearest state about Jesus' divinity like the father.
They are not the same in function but the same in essence and nature. Jesus is not merely a good teacher ,he is God.
So knowing the identity of Jesus is knowing God's identity.
John 14 :8-10 ::- Phillip Said Show Us The Father And It Will Be Enough.
"Phillip said, Lord show us the father,and we will be satisfied.
Jesus replied,have I been with you all this time, Phillip, and yet you still don't know who i am?
Anyone who has seen me has seen the father,so why are you asking me to show you the father."
Jesus answered and said ,Don't you know me Phillip? Anyone who has seen me has seen the father.
Jesus is the visible tangible image of the invisible
He is the complete revelation of what God is like.
Jesus explained to Phillip who wanted to see the father,that to know him is to know God.
Phillipians 2:6 ::- Jesus Christ is the nature of God.
"Though he was God,he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to"
We should have mindset like Jesus christ
Who has the form and nature of God but was humble to the core.
THE KEY CHARACTERISTICS OF JESUS
1, He always existed with God.
2, Christ is equal to God because he is God
3, Through Christ God became a man
CONCLUSION
Gods identity is more obvious than we think.
Its jus our carnal hearts that don't want to accepts who God is.we as Christian can be able to know God..
John 17:3 says "Now this is the eternal life,that they k ow you the o lg true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent"
Jesus was asking the father to help the believers, to know God not o luk ow him but as the true God.
Yes we can know God but we cannot comprehend God completely,and why?
Because he is limitless ,boundless ,but human are limited by their knowledge.
Luke 16 : 19-31 ::- the parable of Lazarus and the rich man.
Jesus told the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. They found themselves in eternity-Lazarus in heaven and the rich man in hell.
Hell (lake of fire) is a place of permanent suffering.
The rich man begged father Abraham to send somebody to his brothers.
Father Abraham responded::- if they hear not moses and the prophets ,neither will they be convinced even if somebody is raised from the death. They spoke to them constantly.
